Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Pribble desktop application and the pribble.ai website (together, the “Service”), provided by Oversight Division Engineering LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). By downloading, installing, or using Pribble, you agree to these terms.

1. What Pribble Is

Pribble is a macOS desktop application that records audio, generates transcripts, and produces AI-powered meeting notes. The software runs locally on your Mac. We do not operate a cloud service that processes your content.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Pribble application on any Mac you own or control. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

3. Price and Availability

Pribble is currently offered free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or a paid version in the future. If we do, the free version you have at the time will continue to function as it did when you downloaded it.

4. Your Data

You own your data. Recordings, transcripts, notes, and any other content you create with Pribble belong to you. We do not claim any rights to your content. Because Pribble processes data locally, we generally do not have access to it. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

5. Third-Party Services

Pribble allows you to optionally connect your own API keys for third-party AI services (such as Anthropic or OpenAI) and to use Apple iCloud for backups. When you use these features:

  • You are responsible for your own API keys and any costs incurred with those providers.
  • Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
  • We are not responsible for how third-party providers handle data you send to them.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Pribble to:

  • Record conversations without the consent of all participants where required by applicable law.
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Infringe on the rights of others.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of Pribble complies with all applicable recording consent and privacy laws in your jurisdiction.

7. Not Professional Advice

Pribble is a productivity tool. It is not a substitute for professional advice. Specifically:

  • Pribble is not a compliance solution, legal tool, or regulatory product.
  • AI-generated summaries and notes may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Always review AI output before relying on it.
  • Transcriptions are approximations. They should not be treated as verbatim legal or medical records.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Pribble is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Oversight Division Engineering LLC and its officers, employees, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of Pribble, regardless of the theory of liability.

Because Pribble is provided free of charge, our total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed $50 USD.

10. Intellectual Property

The Pribble name, logo, and associated branding are the property of Oversight Division Engineering LLC. The software includes open-source components (such as WhisperKit, Sparkle, and llama.cpp) which are subject to their respective licenses.

11. Updates

Pribble may periodically check for updates via its built-in update mechanism (Sparkle). You may disable automatic update checks in the app. We may release updates that add features, fix bugs, or address security issues, but we are not obligated to maintain or update the software.

12. Termination

You may stop using Pribble at any time by deleting the application. Since Pribble does not require an account, there is nothing to cancel. We may discontinue the Service or stop distributing the software at any time, but any version you have already downloaded will continue to function independently.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of Pribble after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
