· Common questions ·
Six things people ask.
Is it really free?
Yes. No subscription, no trial. Just download and use it. If that ever changes, the version you have will keep working.
Do I need an internet connection?
Not by default. Transcription and summaries both run locally — you can record, transcribe, and summarize on a plane, in a basement, in the woods. If you bring your own API key for a cloud model, only those calls need a connection.
Will Pribble work on Intel Macs?
No. WhisperKit needs the Neural Engine on Apple Silicon to run real-time transcription. Pribble checks at install time.
Where are my recordings stored?
Locally in ~/Documents/Pribble/Recordings/. You can browse them in Finder. Optional iCloud Drive backup uses your iCloud account — Pribble never sees the data.
Can I export my data?
Anytime. Markdown for notes, plain text for transcripts, WAV for audio. Bulk export is a single keyboard shortcut.
What about translating non-English calls?
WhisperKit supports 99 languages. The summaries come back in whatever language the conversation is in — you can also ask the AI to translate.
